What'o chaps and welcome to my blog, I'm a 20th century sort of hound and thought that I would try one of these new blogs to keep all my friends updated with my comings and goings. If you are wondering how I used a keyboard....well lets just say I like to create oppportunites for people to use their nozzle don't you know.

Crunchy under paw is worth a flake or two in the ear

Let me tell you about snow. It is a delight, it is crunchy any paw, and an excellent bearer of scents. A tad cold under the old nose first thing mind.

Soft, soft, soft

Well Chaps, I finally had the house to myself again this evening. I was just snuggling down in my bed for a well earned nap as there was peace and quite for once don't you know. When I heard a creaking noise emminating from the upper quarter, tad suspicious. I jumped up and bounded up the stairs, and noticed straight away that the upstairs bathroom door was open which was very unusual. Well being the kind of chap who always looks after his chums I thought I had better check it out in case there were any ruffians or burglars lurking in the dark. I've have always been the kind of cove who is led by his nose, and the first thing my nose banged against seemed to be some kind of wicker box. Having dealt with this in case it was dangerous and getting a mouthful of soap in the bargain which proved my worst suspicions. I next tackled a couple of rolls of soft, soft paper in case within their midst something even worse lurked. All threats neutralised I retired to bed.

Another triumph for the Townsend clan.

The exciting case of the pheasants in the pen

What o' - i am glad to report that i have had the best day since my arrival in Tisbury. First thing I was able to snaffle a snorter in a bap which had been left handly on the side and then today being a Sunday we went for a stroll north of Downton. Whilst passing through Trafalgar Park, the opportunity arose to slip my harness due to the good fortune of my leash being caught in a bush. What fun I had for the next hour, running round and round the wood barking with the joys of spring come early trying to catch one of those silly pheasants. A really splendid opportunity presented itself in a handily placed pen - I was so nearly there but the flying thing does pose a little bit of an obstacle. I also engaged in an invigorating game of chase with Paul and Em avoiding them just at the last moment everytime. I let them catch me in the end of course just before it got dark, but I did think it was a little unsporting of Em to use a flying rugby tackle that knocked the stuffing clean out of me. All in all however a most spiffing day.

Chicken and rice and everything nice. But how a chap prefers a mars bar

What'o chaps, sorry to be out of touch but I have been a touch under the weather don't you know. This week - the old tummy was a little out of kilter. This unfortunately meant that I had to undertake a visit to the vet which is never on the top of a chaps to do list. I would also defy the toughest prize fighter not to squirm and yelp when pricked not once but twice in the back of the neck. Plus pills the size of horse tranquillisers that were only pallitable when stuffed inside a bit of old mars bar. However I am glad to report that today I am much improved and have been chowing down on a little plain rice and chicken so life is not so bad after all.

The delights of a good frosty morning

Well chaps good morning from this wonderful frosty morning. I expect many of you are still tucked up in bed but I have already been up and out and you missed a treat I tell you. The moon was setting, the sun was rising and the frost was thick on the ground. Em kept muttering about the beauty of the view but between me and you I think the sherry she consumed last night has gone more than a little to her head, because the beauty of this morning was all about the smell. As crisp and clear as you could want... dog, and fox, and dog, and bird, and badger and.. well you get the idea. I ask you some people don't appreciate what is right under their nose. This is my Grandson don't you know

All in all I have had a splendid day. Especially when you consider it started a little uncertainly with a trip in an automobile. I thought maybe I was in for another change in board, and while a chap dosen't mind a change in scene from time to time, it would have been a bit rummy to have to settle somewhere new again so soon. In the event my fears were unfounded as I only had my day bag with me and we were merely visiting some jolly old coves in the north called Chris, Judy and Mick. I was also introduced about the place with a beaming smile and a 'this is my grandson don't you know', well a chap as every right to be a little proud under the circumstances. I don't think therefore you would blame me for spending the rest of the day engaged in some energetic play and a game of tag with Judy. We even stopped for another walk on the way home on the Plain where I met another spiffing old card called Ali. After that well i don't mind saying that I was more than a little tuckered and fell straight asleep in my bed. Tally Ho..until next time

Beginnings...

Well, I have finally settled in enough since my arrival on Wednesday to jot down a few lines. The chaps I am staying with seem to be jolly old coves. There is a big one with nearly as much facial hair as me called Paul, his thinner brother Mark who is always up for some play and Em who I met when I first arrived. In general I don't think I shall mind spending some time here, the bed and board is reasonable with regular meals and soft furnishings and the choice of walks seem excellent, plus all work surfaces are within easy reach - what more could a chap want.
